Craftsmanship division awards:
- Youth (12 and under)
Novice
Journeyman
Master
Group entries: craftsmanship division is determined by the highest skill level person in your group. For example, a group of novices and a journeyman will be required to compete in the journeyman division. Additionally, youth contestants wearing costumes primarily created by an adult will not be allowed to compete in the youth category. Judges reserve the right to adjust your craftsmanship category. Such an entry may be adjusted to a higher skill division than they have won previous award for. There are many experienced costumers who would compete in a lesser skill division to ensure a better chance of win. Sandbagging will not be tolerated.
A costume that has won a major award (i.e. craftsmanship, best in show, best group) in another competition may be not entered in the Costume Contest and may be only worn as an exhibition costume. If an entrant does attempt this, they will be disqualified. Additionally, if knowledge of this is made known after the awarding of prizes, the entrant will be stripped of their award and must return any prizes received.
All entrants are required read the costume contest rules and to bring a folder containing the following:
- A legibly completed costume contest entry form. If you are a group, all members must be listed. Unreadable forms will be disqualified.
A color reference picture at least 5” x 7” to 8” x 10” in size. Hand drawn images are not allowed. If an entrant is a group, reference pictures for all group members are required.
Parental consent signature for any entrant under the age of 18. They may not compete without it. Entrants age 12 and under must have parent/guardian present during prejudging.
In progress pictures are not required but are welcome and encouraged.
